*Unknown newspaper source – clipping inside voting registration book – YUBA MAN ADMITS CITIZENSHIP WAS GOTTEN BY FRAUD: San Francisco, March 27. – Sam K. Kosmopulus, telegraph operator for the Southern Pacific company at Marysville, surrendered himself to federal authorities yesterday in connection with the naturalization fraud which is under investigation here. Kosmopulas said he had decided to give himself up in view of the statement of officials that those implicated who surrender voluntarily would be dealth with lightly. – The Marysville man told the authorities that he had come to San Francisco, in June, 1921, and there had met Frederick M. Littlejohn, chief naturalization examiner, who sold him naturalization papers for $50. Although he was barred from citizenship because he claimed exemption from the draft as an alien, Kosmopulus said he had appeared before Littlejohn with the honorable discharge papers of his cousin, Gus Kosmopulus of San Francisco, as a pre-arranged blind.
