DRIFT MINES

Two listed:

Kingbird Mine, Clipper Mills, patented, 3,000 ft. elevation, Hampshire Creek, 30-200 ft. deep to bedrock, 400 ft. tunnel, 80 ft shaft, 300 ft. wide, owned by W.J. Mellon, Challenge, Coarse gravel and quartz boulders, has worked off and on since 1865 but now idle.

Old Pittsburg Mine, Camptonville, not patented, 3,000 ft. elevation, Deadwood Creek, 100 ft. deep to bedrock, 2,000 ft. tunnel, 100 ft. wide shaft, owned by Tom Long, Camptonville, worked in winter

Located near Marysville are 10 dredges listed, all supplied by Yuba River water, average about 3,000 cu. yds. per 24 hours, all Bucket Dredge, powered by electric, 8 mined by Yuba Con. Goldfields Dr. Co., 2 by Marysville Gold Dredging Co., Owner of all 10 listed as W.P. Hammon, Gen. Mgr.
