GREENVILLE LEDGER
This is a list of names of those who bought from a store in Oregon Hill (Greenville), Yuba County, California. The store was owned by Hugh Murphy and Thomas Jones and run by James Lawrence. James Poulson may also have been a part owner. The store was located on the left side of the road that is now Moran Road, just past the intersection with Oregon Hill Road. The property is currently owned by Eunice and Spencer Nahm.
This ledger covers 1853 when most of the accounts were transferred to Ledger B. which is not available.
A copy of this ledger was donated to the Yuba Feather Historical Society by Don Perkins, and is in their museum in Forbestown, California. The transcriber also has a copy. The original copy was owned by Alexander Moran who was the father of Eunice Nahm and grandfather of Don Perkins. At this time, it is not known where the original is.
The genealogical value of this ledger is the names of the people who were living in the Oregon Hill area in 1853. The names are written as they appeared in the ledger.
