YUBA    COUNTY    LOOKUPS

Lookup Volunteers:

Deborah Gibbs - email fhcgibbs@comcast.net

Kathy -   Due to the large amount of spam I receive, I have added my contact email as an image.  It is not as a link, so you will need to type this address into your email before sending.  Thank you.

Limited to obituaries in the local newspaper as time allows - NOTE:  As of Feb. 2006, I am *extremely* behind in getting requests taken care of.

Would you like to volunteer?  Contact Kathy!

When requesting a lookup, put YUBA COUNTY LOOKUP in the subject line. Lookup requests should be limited to one name, or perhaps two if it is a married couple. Entire family groups, or more than two names will be denied. Please use proper spelling, and don't forget to thank the volunteer for their time.

Lookups in copyrighted material will be limited to determining if the resource would be helpful and providing the author's name and publisher.

If you own any books which pertain to Yuba County and are willing to do lookups in them,  please let Kathy know.

Hammonton Dredger Town 1902-1957
by Lottie Lathrop Workman (1975) Marysville, CA
Sharon LePage VanVleet: gresearch@lanset.com - Contains a history of the company town of Hammonton (which no longer exists in Yuba County).  Most of the people who lived or worked there were connected to the gold dredging operation in Hammonton.  The town was eventually dismantled and the town site dug for the gold underneath of it.  The book is NOT indexed, but does have a partial list of deceased men who worked at Hammonton.

Miscellaneous records on Yuba and Sutter families.  Email with name you are researching and as much detail as possible to help find any records.  Is able to send Gedcoms when available.  Joanne Kyle

Erwin G. Gudde's "California Gold Camps" - dictionary of camps, towns, localities where gold was found and mined, wayside stations, trading centers in California.  Many names not found in any other source.  Contact Kathy (email image above).
