YUBA  COUNTY  CEMETERIES

Vineyard Cemetery

The Vineyard Cemetery is located near what was the family ranch house. The Vineyard family moved to the area about 1859 and this is the approximate establishment date. It measures about 28 feet square with a low wire fence and gate at the northeast corner. The property is presently owned by Dayton Development for the Vineyard Ranch Subdivision. The cemetery grounds and surrounding area, totaling .66 acres, have been deeded back to the Vineyard family. Today, there are nine graves in this cemetery. During WWII, one person was removed and reinterred in the Wheatland Cemetery. Other members of this family are buried in the Fraternal (Smartsville) Cemetery.
