Although this mining town no longer exists, it was at one time a very active one. Morristown was populated at one time by about 300 people, and is at 5,220 ft. elevation. There used to be many more markers, but over time they have apparently been removed from the cemetery, as now only 5 stones are left. At least the records of these stones will be preserved now. The cemetery is located near Canyon Creek in what appears on the map to be Tahoe National Forest.
