Godfrey Ranch Cemetery
Miscellaneous markers are found north-east of the Godfrey Ranch atop Galina Hill, approximately 2 miles north of Camptonville, Yuba County. The following was listed by Mr. James Lague, Curator of the Forbestown Museum in the 1970's.
Three stones bear the following inscriptions:
Benjamin Ellis GARNETT, born Oct. 1, 1835, killed in the Diggins, June 22nd, 1854. Son of J. and J. E. Garnett
Jane Ellis GARNETT, born April 3, 1814, died Dec. 2, 1882. Native of Ingelton Co., York, England. Wife of J. Garnett
In Memory of Jesse WATKINS. Sept 4, 1827 - July 17, 1854. Native of Kentucky, Came to his death by the caving of a bank. Alone and far from his native home.
Earlier there were wooden markers - one bearing the initials of I. S.
