KAROLEY – HERZOG.
Joseph Karoley and Miss Emma B. Herzog were married at 9 o’clock Sunday evening at the residence of the bride’s parents, 204 A street. Rev. Thomas Filben, pastor of the M. E. church, performed the ceremony. Harry Hyde was best man, and Miss Pearl Herzog acted as bridesmaid for her sister. After the ceremony the guests were entertained by Mr. and Mrs. F. J. Herzog. Mr. and Mrs. Karoley received many handsome and useful presents from their friends.

WEDDED AT NOON. – HARRY HYDE AND PEARL HERZOG WERE UNITED IN HOLY BONDS TO-DAY BY REV. W. M. WOODWARD.
A pretty wedding was solemnized at noon to-day at the home of Mr. and Mrs. F. J. Herzog, corner of Second and A streets, when their daughter, Miss Pearl M. Herzog, became the bride of Harry E. Hyde of Chico, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hyde, old residents of Marysville. The ceremony took place midst beautiful floral decorations, Rev. W. M. Woodward officiating in the presence of the relatives of the contracting parties.
The ceremony was followed by a feast and Mr. and Mrs. Hyde departed amid a shower of rice, for San Francisco. Their trip will extend to San Jose and other points south, possibly as far as Los Angeles. Upon their return they will reside in Chico, the groom holding the position there of operator for the Southern Pacific Company.
The bride is a charming and accomplished young lady with many lovable traits, while the groom is respected for his ambition and strict attention to business. The young people have been lovers since childhood, and this happy culmination is in no way a surprise.
Many valuable and useful wedding gifts were presented by relatives and friends.

WHEATLAND WEDDING
Albert Herzog and Miss Judith Harrison, both of Wheatland, were married at the home of the bride’s parents Monday evening at 10 o’clock. Refreshments were served as the old year was passing out and the new year coming in. The happy couple took the Oregon express for Sacramento, where they propose to spend their honeymoon.

CARRIE ROSE HERZOG PASSED AWAY TODAY
Carrie Rose Herzog, daughter of F. J. Herzog, well known tailor of this city, passed away at her home here this afternoon. Deceased had been ill for several months and death was not unexpected. She was a native of Elmore, Ohio, and besides a father, she is survived by a brother, George F. Herzog, three sisters, Mrs. Jos. Karoley, Mrs. Harry E. Hyde, and Miss Lillie Herzog, all of this city, and an aunt, Miss Christiana Herzog, of Marysville.
Miss Herzog was taken suddenly ill some time ago, and since that time has been confined to her bed. Death was due to paresis.
The funeral services will be held from the family home, 108 Second St., Friday morning, at 10 o’clock. Services and interment, which will be made under the direction of R. E. Bevan & Son, in the city cemetery, will be private. Friends and acquaintances are welcome at the family home until Friday.

MISS HERZOG’S DEATH HALTS CHURCH SOCIAL
Due to the death of Miss Carrie Herzog, the social planned for tonight by the Epworth league of the First Methodist church has been postponed indefinitely.
The funeral service for Miss Herzog will take place this morning from the family residence, followed by interment in the Marysville city cemetery under the direction of R. E. Bevan & Son.

MISS CARRIE HERZOG IS LAID TO REST
Funeral services for the late Miss Carrie Rose Herzog were held yesterday morning from the family home.
Rev. Will Stuart Wilson officiated at the services at the house and at the grave in the city cemetery. The pallbearers were: Gotlieb Mueller, Kenneth Gordon, William Wear, Clarence Hopkins, Frank Bush and James Robinson.
R. E. Bevan & Son directed the funeral.

PRIVATE FUNERAL FOR F. J. HERZOG IS TUESDAY AFTERNOON
Private funeral services will be held tomorrow from the chapel of Lipp & Sullivan for the late Frank Joseph Herzog, a resident of Marysville for the past 40 years, who died Saturday at the Joshlin Sanitarium near Lincoln following a paralytic stroke. He was a native of Switzerland, aged 84 years.
The deceased was for many years engaged in the tailoring business. He prospered in this occupation and showed his faith in the community by building an attractive apartment house at Seventh and E street. His estate will also comprise other valuable residence property in this city.
For the past few years, Mr. Herzog had been in failing health due to injuries received when he was struck by an automobile here. He later suffered a stroke of paralysis and some time ago was taken to the Lincoln Sanitarium.
The deceased was the father of Justice of the Peace George F. Herzog, and Lillian May Herzog, of Marysville; Mrs. Harry E. Hyde and Mrs. Emma Karoley, of San Francisco, and brother of Mrs. Kate Guglu, of Galion, Ohio, and Miss Christine Herzog of Marysville.
He was one of the oldest members of Marysville Lodge of Elks.

MRS. HERZOG RITES
The Rebekah lodge will have charge of graveside services Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock for Mrs. Judith M. Herzog, who died Sunday in San Francisco. The ceremonies will be held in the Wheatland cemetery.
Surviving her are her husband, Albert Herzog, two daughters, Mrs. Richard Askey and Miss Ruby Herzog; three brothers, William Harrison of Loyalton and Lloyd and Jack Harrison, both of Wheatland; a sister, Mrs. Edward Fraser, and her mother, Mrs. Sarah Harrison. Arrangements are by Lipp & Sullivan.

LILLIE MAY HERZOG DIES IN MARYSVILLE
Lillie May Herzog, a native of Ohio, died early today at her home in the Herzog apartments, Seventh and E Sts., Marysville.
She had lived in Marysville nearly all her life having come from Ohio when a small girl.
Miss Herzog was an active member of the First Methodist church. Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Pearl Hyde and Mrs. Emma Karoley, both of Marysville; one brother, George Herzog of Marysville and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, at 2 p.m., in Hutchinson’s Colonial chapel. Interment will be in Sutter City cemetery.

SERVICES ARRANGED FOR ALBERT HERZOG
Graveside funeral services for Albert Herzog, 72, will be held in Wheatland cemetery at 2 p.m. Wednesday. He died in a local hospital yesterday, following a short illness.
A native of Germany, he had resided in Wheatland for 47 years and was foreman of the Durst ranch for 35 years, retiring in 1939.
A member of the IOOF lodge of Wheatland and an honorary member of the Rebekah lodge of Wheatland, he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Marjie Hays of Madras, Ore., and Ruby Askew of Wheatland. Arrangements are under the direction of Lipp & Sullivan chapel.

JUDGE HERZOG OF MARYSVILLE DIES
George Franklin Herzog, 80, died today in his home at 528 Fourth St., Marysville. He was a native of Ohio and had been in this community for the past 70 years.
He formerly was Marysville township justice of the peace and was a member of the Marysville Lodge of Elks.
He is survived by three daughters, Sister Superior Elizabeth of San Francisco, Mrs. Guinevere Hill, Burlingame and Mrs. Katharine Sutton of San Mateo; a son, Franklin Herzog of Marysville, and two sisters, Mrs. Pearl Hyde and Mrs. Emma Karoley both of Marysville.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday in Hutchinson’s Colonial chapel with Rev. Leo Hamilton, pastor of the First Methodist church in Marysville, officiating. Interment will be in Sutter City cemetery.

BERNARD F. HERZOG
Private graveside funeral services were conducted Thursday at Sutter Cemetery for Bernard Franklin Herzog, 69, a life-long resident of the Yuba-Sutter area. He died Jan. 8 at an Oroville rest home following a long illness.
Born in Marysville, he grew up in the area and attended Marysville High School before joining the Merchant Marine and later the Navy. He was a prisoner of war for several years in the Philippines during World War II.
After the war, he returned to Marysville and worked for a local taxi company. He entered an Oroville rest home two years ago because of failing health.
His father, the late George Herzog, was a former Marysville justice of the peace.
Survivors include two sisters, Katharine Riosse of San Mateo and Guinivere Hill of Burlingame.
Rev. John Reed Moy officiated at the private services.
